The importance of PSMBFI insuranceThe uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) face various risks as they serve and protect the community. Thousands have lost their lives during police operations, while others passed away due to sickness and accident. She was brought to the hospital on June 10, 2011 but passed away after 12 days. SPO3 Edwin T Faypon of the 2nd Regional Public Safety Battalion in Santiago City, Isabela PRO 2 was riding his motorcycle along Maharlika Highway on July 31, 2011 when a drunk driver rammed his motorcycle into the PNCO’s vehicle. SPO3 Faypon died as a result of massive head and internal trauma. PO1 Mudzil A Balawag and other operatives of the NCRPO Intelligence Operations Unit conducted police operation last August 10, 2011 in Makati City against the notorious Onad Carjacking Group. A shoot-out ensued, hitting PO1 Balawag in the chest. The PNCO died while undergoing surgery at a hospital. PSInsp Romulo D Paza of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, PRO 10 was playing basketball last August 21, 2011 when he suddenly collapsed and died of myocardial infarction. PO1 Jorge F Sobrevilla, a police recruit of PRO 11, was conducting checkpoint operation as part of the Field Training Program (FTP) on September 6, 2011 along Barangay Sta. Maria road when a motorcycle evaded the said checkpoint. PO1 Sobrevilla and a companion ran after the fleeing men but were later fired upon causing the death of the PNCO. The insurance claim received by their beneficiaries may not be enough to lessen the grief of losing a loved one.
