Raffle promo for PSMBFI members!

For more than a decade now, the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund, Inc. (PSMBFI) has been an effective partner of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in looking
after the morale and welfare of its members, and helping them with their needs.

The PNP is presently coming up with ways to provide its personnel with basic equipment such as handguns to effectively fight crime and terrorism. This problem on firearms shortage has prompted policemen to buy their own service pistol as many of them have yet to be issued their service firearm.

Aware of this problem, PSMBFI conceptualized a promotional activity wherein members can win their own caliber .9 mm service pistols. A raffle is held every month from September 2010 to January 2011 in the presence of representatives from PSMBFI and the PNP. A member can only win once during the entire raffle period.

This promo is open to PSMBFI members who have availed and will avail of the salary, policy, emergency, and calamity loan facilities from January 1, 2010 until December 31, 2010. Under its mechanics, every P5,000.00 loaned is equivalent to one raffle point which shall be based on the net amount of the loan per transaction. The points earned from every loan transaction within the period will be accumulated to determine the total number of points. Each point will correspond to one raffle number combination. However, any amount lower than P5,000.00 will not qualify for any point and will not be carried-over to the next loan transaction.

The first raffle draw was held last September 23, 2010 in the presence of the members of PSMBFI Board of Trustees, Top Management, and Department Heads. The following PNP officers were also present during the affair: PCSupt Wilhelm E Barlis, Deputy Director for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM); PCSupt James Andres B Melad, Director of the Headquarters Support Service (HSS); PSSupt Noel A Baraceros of the Public Information Office (PIO), top PNCOs SPO4 Jovito L Rasco of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), SPO4 Dionisio B Villanueva of the Special Action Force (SAF), and SPO4 Alfredo L Laguna of the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG).

The winners of the first draw were SPO1 Nancy G Villaroza (DPRM), PO3 Rufina M Obra (PRO 1), and SPO1 Severo B Suarez (PRO 8).

The second raffle draw was held last October 27, 2010 and among the guests who attended the event were PCSupt Lina C Sarmiento, Director for Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG); PSupt Asprinio M Cabula of the Firearms and Explosives Division (FED); SPO4 Luis D Mariano, GESPO Maritime Group (MG); SPO4 Quirico B Cargullo, GESPO Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG); SPO4 Lauro A Delen, GESPO Intelligence Group (IG), SPO4 Bernardo F Avenido Jr, GESPO Highway Patrol Group (HPG).

The winners of the second draw were PO3 Sainodin N Benasing (PRO ARMM), PO2 Ricky M Perez (PRO 4B), and SPO2 Joseph D Ones (PRO 12). As the PNP takes on many police operations everyday, PSMBFI helps improve the lives of its member as they ensure the safety of the citizenry and maintain the peace and order of the communities.
