PSMBFI gives insurance benefits to the family SAF troopers killed in landmine explosion in Baras, Rizal; and financial assistance extended to wounded cops

The Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund, Inc gave last April 21, 2010 the cash advance check of the insurance benefit and financial assistance to the family of the policemen who were killed in an ambush in Baras, Rizal.  They belonged to the PNP Special Action Force (SAF) and all are members of PSMBFI.

PSMBFI immediately coordinated with concerned PNP offices for the release of the insurance claims.   The family of the late PO1 Bert Rami Baddongon, PO1Jesus Moral Jr, PO1 Johnald Tapitan, and PO1 Clifford Bacwaden each received P71,000.00 as cash advance.  They were also extended the KIA Financial Assistance of P25,000.00.

While the WIA Financial Assistance was given to those who were wounded.  The amount of P10,000.00 was given to PO2 Joey Mangawit, PO1 Lito Babli-ing, PO1 Indri Majaluddin, and PO1 Ronnie Baroga, all sustained minor wounds.  While P20,000.00 was given to PO1 Alvin Infanta who sustained major wounds.

According to reports, the SAF troopers from the 34th SAF Company were on board a Land Rover “Defender” vehicle for their scheduled Physical Fitness Test (PFT) last April 20, 2010 when their vehicle ran over a landmine planted by the rebels in the middle of the road and resulted to the tragic death of four policemen, and the wounding of five others.

With the risk and dangers that go with police work, PNP personnel are constantly assured of insurance protection from PSMBFI.  While the WIA/KIA Financial Assistance is another benefit given for free and provides ample support to those wounded in police operations and to the beneficiaries of those who are killed in line of duty.

For the past twelve years, PSMBFI has provided its members the best insurance protection; while the insurance claim has helped their loved ones become financially independent and move on should the unfortunate happen.
